Coffee Hour

After the 10 o'clock High Mass each Sunday, coffee and other refreshments are available in the Undercroft. Coffee hour is an opportunity to welcome visitors and new members of the parish, and to reinforce ties of friendship—some new, some going back many years.

Coffee hours are sometimes enriched with talks by parish clergy, visiting dignitaries, and scholars.

Ascension and Saint Agnes parishioners are a diverse group drawn not only from the neighborhood, the city of Washington and its suburbs, but also from as far away as Baltimore, Maryland, and Richmond, Virginia. We take special delight in seeing regular visitors from such varied places as Canada, New Zealand, Lebanon, Jordan, the United Kingdom, and Japan.

We are also happy to extend a special welcome to students from area universities and from the nearby Virginia Theological Seminary.

If you are new to the parish or a casual visitor, we hope you will join us at coffee hour. Any of us will be happy to show you the way.
