Stewardship

THE PARISH needs your financial support to meet its many expenses. Financial stability and major improvements over the long term, however, depend as well on the generosity of friends and parishioners through planned giving and enhancement of the endowment fund.

While we have time, let us do good unto all men;
and especially unto them that are of the household of faith.

To do good and to distribute, forget not;
for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Pledging

Pledging is the principle way the parish meets its expenses. If you have not made your pledge for this year, please do so as soon as possible. Pledges made now may be changed in the future to reflect your needs and circumstances.

Pledge cards and an analysis of the parish budget are available in the church at the rear of the nave and in the undercroft.

The parish finance committee can provide further information about the parish budget and about pledging. If you would like a member of the finance committee to contact you, please telephone the parish administrator at 202.347.8161. Or, if you prefer, write the parish administrator at 1217 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., Washington, DC, 20009. Fax 202.347.8036

Planned Giving

Planned giving allows you to express your gratitude to Almighty God by providing for his Church in your estate. It enables you to dispose of your personal resources to promote what you believe is important. Although planned giving requires financial or estate planning, it is not just for those with substantial resources.

Endowment Fund

Our Parish's endowment fund receives and manages gifts to benefit its future ministry. The goal of our fund is to provide income and capital growth for the Parish to support its distinctive ministry and programs. Our policy is to put minimal demands upon the fund so that it may grow and provide the Parish with resources should the Parish face urgent financial need. The fund provides about ten percent of our annual operating budget. The endowment is also essential for capital improvements (such as structural repairs) and for emergencies.
